OVERVIEW
Enriched air means more time underwater
Enriched air, also known as nitrox, is a form of breathing gas that allows divers to extend bottom time and reduce nitrogen loading.
Learn why diving with air with a higher level of oxygen and less nitrogen content gives you more no decompression dive time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.
What to Expect
The benefit of a nitrox dive
In recreational diving terms, enriched air refers to a nitrogen/oxygen combination where the oxygen concentration is higher than what you will find in normal air.
It’s this change in proportion that allows divers to lengthen their bottom time, shorten surface interval and add an extra safety buffer for decompression sickness.
You can learn all this and all it takes is 1 day
You will start by enrolling in the eLearning nitrox specialty course.
After completing the online individual study, you will practice your knowledge by using procedures for obtaining and analyzing enriched air. During this practical session and 2 dives you will be teached how to manage oxygen exposure, analyzing oxygen content in your dive tank and how to set your dive computer.
We will start in the morning here at the dive center in Sayulita. Once the training and the practical part are over, we will drive to the boat in Punta de Mita for the 2 boat dives; the whole process will be completed by early afternoon.
Lunch back in Sayulita
We will end the day around some tacos and beer at our favorite local restaurant in Sayulita.
