OVERVIEW

Away from the crowd

A small sea mount right in front of Litibu beach, El Malinal is an easy 15 min boat ride from Punta de Mita. Not often visited by divers, the site has large schools of fish, a remarkable marine life with interesting swimtrough. The main feature of this dive site is a tunnel crossing from side to side the main big rock who marks the site. Teeming with life including octopus, eels, shrimp, sponges, nudibranchs and mollusks it’s a perfect alternative for those interested in a quicker diving adventure or less conventional dive site.

What to Expect

A 1 tank dive excursion

The underwater rock, which in clear days can be spotted from the boat, is the landmark for El Malinal. Not the most famous spot in the area, it offers indeed a great variety of marine life, easy swim throughs and a great marine biodiversity. Big schools of fish are usually accompanying the divers during this very enjoyable 1 tank dive.

The boat ride to the site

Our starting point will be the dive center in Sayulita where the divers will be fitted for equipment. After that you will be driven to Punta de Mita for a 3 hour excursion. 15 min is all it takes from Punta de Mita to reach the dive site so the option suits those interested in a quick morning out. Groups will be small and led by PADI professionals for a better customized experience.

Returning to Sayulita

We will end the day with a quick lunch at our favorite local restaurant in town.
