OVERVIEW
A multilevel dive location
Located between Mismaloya Beach and Las Gemelas, Los Arcos lies 7 miles south of Puerto Vallarta. With a depth range between 10 and 90 feet, it offers a variety of options for all levels. “El Acuario'' with its 40 feet maximum depth is perfect for beginners, while the more skilled divers can explore the deeper waters of “el bajo del Cristo” and “el Canon del diablo”. The waters here are some of the deepest in the bay with tunnels , caves and arches to explore, teeming with marine life. Here you can spot turtles, stingrays, moray eels. Schools of angelfish, pufferfish, butterfly fish are among some of the many encounters you will have there. Despite the previous century abuse, Los Arcos is now a marine national park with abundant sea life.
What to Expect
The perfect location to match your skills
Depending on the group experience, we will concentrate the 2 tank dive around these 3 locations. A shallow site of no more than 40 feet depth known as “the Aquarium” is perfect for beginner divers. Extremely rich in marine life, it doesn’t require the knowledge and skills of another of our favorite spots, located on the westside of Los Arcos instead. Here, a 800 ft vertical wall leads you into an impressive site “el Canon del diablo”. The drop off is at 60 ft and the dive itself runs between 80 and 120 ft. For the more experienced divers it’s also “el Bajo del Cristo’ with a depth range of 30 to 80 feet.
A 2 tank dive excursion
Roung transportation from Sayulita to the harbour in Punta de Mita will be provided, with meeting point at the dive center in Sayulita at 8.30 am.
Groups will be of a maximum of 8 divers with certified PADI instructors leading the dives to ensure safety at all times.
Returning Sayulita
A light lunch will be served on the boat. We will drive back right after the dives, arriving at the dive center in Sayulita around 3.30 pm.
